My Backyard

Several people that I know have recently came back from overseas missionary trips. Believing in the great commission, someday, I hope to also have the opportunity to serve much the same way in some capacity.

But for right now, my focus remains in my own backyard. There is so much in the way of need. Why isn't there more interest being shown about the issues taking place, right here, in my own backyard? Why are Christian brothers and sisters so readily able to contribute to a overseas cause; yet, tend to ignore, shrug helplessly, look the other way or are either extremely reluctant to help those in our own backyards?

So, until then...

I will continue to do for others what I can, right where I am, one person at a time.

Courage

One sure thing.. if I have nobody, I have Jesus! He will meet us right where we are at in our lives and walk with us no matter how ugly the circumstances. I have learned that to be courageous is to simply rest in His sovereignty, trusting only in Him with the outcome and with my well-being.

do not hold onto it or attempt to remove it.

Because I do not sleep nor do I slumber, there is no
